Shift Calendars

The Shift Calendars page is the central scheduling workspace for reviewing labour shifts, workstation staffing coverage, production capacity, and daily operator assignments.

It combines information from:
Work Calendars
Work Shifts
Labour schedules
Crew fixed shifts and rotations
Workstation operator links
Daily operator assignments
Labour time exceptions
Maintenance downtime
Recorded production activity
This allows planners and supervisors to compare what was planned, what was staffed, and what was actually recorded for each date.
The page can be reviewed from four operational perspectives:
Workstations
Workstation Groups
Labour
Crews
It also provides two presentation modes:
Capacity Board — a daily capacity and staffing matrix
Timeline — a time-based view of resolved shifts
Shift Calendars help supervisors identify:
Workstation shifts without an operator
Partial staffing gaps
Non-working dates
Missing calendar configuration
Maintenance-related capacity loss
Labour and Crew schedules
Actual hours above or below staffed capacity
Operators assigned, linked, or derived from production-stage eligibility

Access and available actions depend on the user’s Workforce scheduling permissions.
Users with the appropriate Manage Shifts permission can use scheduling actions such as:

The page does not store separate capacity values.
It calculates the displayed information from the current Workforce, Production, and Maintenance records.

🔍 What Is the Shift Calendar?
The Shift Calendar is a resolved operational view of the schedule.
It answers questions such as:
Which shift applies to this labour on Monday?
Is this workstation planned to operate?
Does the workstation have an available operator?
How many planned hours are staffed?
How much capacity was lost to maintenance?
How many production hours were recorded?
Which operator source is staffing the workstation?
Which shifts still require an operator?
Is the date non-working or not configured?
The page resolves these answers using the scheduling rules already configured elsewhere in Fabritec.

Capacity Board and Timeline#

Use the buttons at the top-right of the page to switch between the two main views.

Capacity Board#

The Capacity Board displays resources as rows and dates as columns.
Each cell summarizes the resource’s capacity for one date.
It is the most suitable view for:
Staffing-gap reviews
Daily and weekly capacity planning
Operator assignment
Maintenance impact review
Period comparisons
Crew and department planning
Auto-fill actions
The Capacity Board supports the following tabs:
Workstations
Workstation Groups
Labour
Crews

Timeline#

The Timeline displays resolved shifts across a horizontal time scale.
It is useful for reviewing:
Shift start and end times
Day and Night Shift coverage
Overnight shifts
Shift overlaps
Workstation schedules
Labour schedules
Capacity changes during the day
Maintenance or coverage interruptions
The Timeline displays each resolved shift as a bar positioned according to its actual start and end times.
For example:
Day Shift: 08:00–17:00
Night Shift: 22:00–06:00
An overnight Night Shift continues into the following morning but remains associated with the date on which it starts.

Resource Tabs#

The available tabs allow users to review the same selected period from different operational perspectives.

Workstations#

The Workstations tab displays one row for each workstation.
Workstations may be grouped under their Workstation Group.
Use the expand arrow beside a group to display its member workstations.
This view helps supervisors identify:
Workstation staffing gaps
Unstaffed shifts
Maintenance downtime
Non-working workstations
Missing scheduling configuration
Operator sources
Actual production hours
Period capacity
Workstations without a Workstation Group may appear under:
Ungrouped

Workstation Groups#

The Workstation Groups tab summarizes the combined capacity of all workstations inside each group.

For example:
Cutting Area

The displayed hours are aggregated from the group’s member workstations.
Use this view to answer questions such as:
How much capacity is available in the Cutting Area?
Which group has the largest operator gap?
How much production was recorded across the group?
Which group is most affected by maintenance?
Is the group fully staffed for the selected week?
A Workstation Group row does not create separate production hours. It summarizes the values of its workstations.

Labour#

The Labour tab displays one row for each labour resource.

Each cell shows the worker’s scheduled and actual time for the date.
This view helps users review:
Labour scheduled hours
Labour availability
Recorded production hours
Overtime exceptions
Non-working dates
Individual shift details
Daily and period utilization
Select a labour cell to review the worker’s detailed shift and exception information.

Crews#

The Crews tab summarizes scheduling and capacity information for each Crew.

The displayed values combine the daily results of the Crew members.
Use this view to review:
Crew planned hours
Crew staffed hours
Crew actual hours
Crew utilization
Crew fixed shifts
Active rotation outcomes
Time exceptions affecting Crew members
Period totals
Crew membership is resolved according to the current Workforce configuration and relevant historical rules.

Date and Period Controls#

Selected Date#

Use the date field to select the date around which the board should be displayed.
The board adjusts according to the selected Day, Week, or Month mode.

Previous and Next Arrows#

Use the arrows beside the date field to move backward or forward.
The amount moved depends on the selected period:
Day moves one day
Week moves one week
Month moves one month

Day#

Displays one operational date.
Use Day view for:
Same-day staffing
Operator assignment
Shift-level investigation
Auto-fill Day
Immediate supervisor action

Week#

Displays the selected week as separate date columns.
Use Week view for:
Weekly staffing review
Crew planning
Workstation coverage
Auto-fill Week
Capacity comparisons
Period summaries
The first displayed weekday follows the organization’s configured first day of the week.

Month#

Displays a broader monthly planning period.
Use Month view for:
Future capacity planning
Recurring staffing-gap review
Holiday impact
Long-range workforce planning
The amount of detail shown in each cell may be reduced when a longer period is selected.

Status Filter#

Use the Status filter to display resources matching a selected Capacity Status.
Available statuses may include:
Fully staffed
Partial (gap)
No operator
Down / maintenance
Non-working
Not configured
This helps supervisors focus on the records requiring action.
For example, select:
Status: No operator
to display shifts where planned capacity exists but no operator coverage was resolved.

Search#

Use the Search field to find a resource by information such as:
Workstation name
Workstation code
Workstation Group
Labour name
Labour code
Crew name
Search works together with the selected tab, period, and Status filter.

Display Options#

Use Display Options to control the visual details shown on the board.
The exact options may vary according to:
Capacity Board or Timeline
Selected resource tab
Selected Day, Week, or Month period
Display Options change the presentation of the board without changing the underlying schedule.

Capacity Status Legend#

The legend explains the status colors used in the Capacity Board and Timeline.
Available statuses include:
Fully staffed
Partial (gap)
No operator
Down / maintenance
Non-working
Not configured
Color is used together with text, values, and icons so the status does not depend on color alone.

Fully Staffed#

The resource has the expected staffing coverage for its available working capacity.
For a workstation, this normally means:
The workstation has planned operating time
An eligible and present operator has been resolved
There is no remaining operator coverage gap for the available shift time
Example:
Planned: 15h
Staffed: 15h
Coverage gap: 0h
A Fully Staffed status does not mean that production was recorded for every staffed hour.
Actual Hours and Utilization are shown separately.

Partial (Gap)#

Some of the available planned capacity is staffed, but a coverage gap remains.
Example:
Planned: 45h
Down / maintenance: 10.8h
Staffed: 8h
Coverage gap: 26.2h
Possible causes include:
Only one of several planned shifts has an operator
An operator is absent or on leave
A workstation is staffed for part of the day
Some capacity was removed by maintenance
Eligible operators are assigned elsewhere
Partial does not mean the workstation is completely unavailable.
It means only part of its available working capacity is covered.

No Operator#

The resource has planned operating time, but no present operator was resolved for the available shift.
Example:
Planned: 15h
Staffed: 0h
Down / maintenance: 0h
Possible causes include:
No operator is linked to the workstation
No eligible production-stage labour is available
All eligible operators are assigned elsewhere
The linked operator is absent or on leave
The worker’s resolved shift does not match
No daily assignment was created
Use the cell details and operator-source information to identify the cause.

Down / Maintenance#

The workstation has a maintenance or breakdown window affecting scheduled operating time.
Examples include:
Breakdown
Preventive maintenance
Corrective maintenance
Inspection-related downtime
Maintenance may remove all or part of the workstation’s available capacity.
The related maintenance records appear under Exceptions in the detail panel.

Non-Working#

The effective Work Calendar defines the date as non-working.
Possible reasons include:
No shift runs on that weekday
A Holiday applies
A Non-Working calendar exception applies
The resource is outside its normal schedule
Non-working time does not create an operator coverage gap.

Not Configured#

Fabritec cannot resolve the scheduling setup required to calculate the resource’s normal capacity.
Possible causes include:
No effective Work Calendar
No applicable Work Shift
Missing Group or default calendar setup
An incomplete workstation schedule
A retired or unavailable scheduling reference
Review the resource’s calendar, group, shift, and default configuration.
Fabritec does not invent scheduled hours when the required configuration is missing.

Capacity Calculations#

The Shift Calendar uses a shared capacity model.

Planned Hours#

Planned Hours are the scheduled working hours defined by the effective Work Calendar and Work Shifts.
Shift breaks are deducted.
For a workstation, Planned Hours represent the time the workstation was expected to operate before staffing gaps are considered.
Example:
Day Shift net hours: 8h
Night Shift net hours: 7h

Planned Hours: 15h

Down / Maintenance Hours#

Down / Maintenance Hours are the portions of maintenance downtime that overlap scheduled working time.
Maintenance outside the planned shift does not reduce scheduled capacity in the same way.
Example:
Scheduled Shift: 08:00–17:00
Maintenance Window: 12:00–15:00

Down / Maintenance: 3h

Staffed Hours#

Staffed Hours represent the planned operating time that had valid operator coverage after maintenance impact is considered.
For labour and Crew views, Staffed Hours represent the scheduled availability resolved for the displayed workers.

Coverage Gap#

The Coverage Gap is the available planned capacity that did not have operator coverage.
Calculation:
Coverage Gap =
Maximum of 0 and
(Planned Hours − Down / Maintenance Hours − Staffed Hours)
Example:
Planned: 45h
Down / Maintenance: 10.8h
Staffed: 8h

Coverage Gap: 26.2h
Maintenance downtime is reported separately and is not classified as an operator gap.

Actual Hours#

Actual Hours come from recorded production activity associated with the resource.
For a workstation, Actual Hours are the recorded machine-operation durations.
For labour and Crews, Actual Hours represent the labour effort attributed through production records.
Actual Hours are not manually entered on the Shift Calendar.
Corrections should be made in the original Production records.

Utilization#

Utilization compares Actual Hours with Staffed Hours.
Calculation:
Utilization = Actual Hours ÷ Staffed Hours × 100
Example:
Staffed Hours: 8h
Actual Hours: 6h

Utilization: 75%
Utilization may exceed 100%.
Example:
Staffed Hours: 8h
Actual Hours: 16h

Utilization: 200%
A high value may indicate:
Work recorded outside staffed time
Overlapping production records
Shared labour activity
Long or incorrect production durations
Missing schedule or attendance configuration
Work recorded against a date with limited staffed capacity
A value above 100% is not automatically an error, but it should be reviewed.

Reading Capacity Board Cells#

Each Capacity Board cell summarizes one resource and one date.
A typical cell may display:

The final column displays the resource’s totals for the selected period.

The period utilization is calculated from the period totals.
It is not a simple average of the daily percentages.

The top of the panel identifies the selected resource.
Information may include:

Exceptions#

The Exceptions section lists events affecting the selected resource and date.
For workstations and Workstation Groups, these may include:
Breakdown
Preventive maintenance
Corrective maintenance
Other maintenance windows
For labour resources, exceptions may include:
Absent
Leave
Late
Early out
Overtime
Swap cover
The source of the exception may also be displayed.
Examples:

The number beside Shift Details shows how many resolved shift entries are available.
A Workstation Group summary may not display separate shift cards when the selected result is only an aggregate.

Operators#

For applicable resources, the Shift Details section lists the operators contributing to coverage.
Operator information may come from:
A daily assignment
A workstation link
Production-stage eligibility
The Operator Source legend explains how each person was resolved.

Resource Actions#

Depending on the selected resource and the user’s permissions, the panel may provide actions such as:

Use these actions to correct the source configuration rather than changing calculated values directly on the board.

Operator Source Legend#

The Operator Source legend explains why an operator appears against a workstation.
Available sources include:
Linked
Derived
Assigned

Linked#

A Linked operator has a default relationship with the workstation.
The link may apply to:
Any shift
One specific shift
Default workstation links are configured from the Labour or workstation setup.
A linked operator contributes to staffing only when:
The operator’s resolved shift matches
The operator is present
The date is working
The operator has not been assigned elsewhere
The operator has not already been passively allocated to another workstation for the same shift

Derived#

A Derived operator is resolved through production-stage eligibility rather than a direct workstation link.
For example:
Labour Production Stage: Cutting
Workstation Production Stage: Cutting
Fabritec may use the worker as an eligible operator when no more specific assignment or link provides coverage.
Derived coverage counts as valid staffing but remains visibly labelled so supervisors know that no direct workstation relationship was used.
For clearer long-term scheduling, frequently used Derived operators should normally be reviewed for a possible direct link.

Assigned#

An Assigned operator has an explicit daily assignment to the workstation and shift.
An assignment may have been created:
Manually by an authorized planner
Automatically through Auto-fill
An explicit assignment takes priority over passive Linked or Derived coverage.

Operator Resolution Priority#

For each workstation, date, and shift, Fabritec resolves coverage from the most specific available source.
The normal priority is:
1. Daily operator assignment
2. Default workstation link
3. Production-stage-derived operator
4. No operator
Every candidate must also be present on the correct shift.
A worker with an Absent or Leave exception does not provide coverage.

One Workstation Assignment per Labour#

A labour cannot be explicitly assigned to different workstations for the same date and shift.
When a manual assignment conflicts with an existing assignment, Fabritec may require the user to confirm moving the labour from the current workstation.
This prevents one person from being planned as the assigned operator for several workstations at the same time.

Passive Operator Allocation#

A Linked or Derived operator is not allowed to passively staff every eligible workstation during the same shift.
Fabritec applies a spread-once rule so one available person contributes passive coverage to only one workstation for that shift.
This creates a more realistic staffing calculation.
An operator explicitly assigned to a workstation is excluded from passive coverage elsewhere.

Manual Operator Assignment#

Where the assignment action is available:
1.
Open the Workstations tab.
2.
Select the required workstation and date.
3.
Open the applicable shift details.
4.
Select Assign Operator.
5.
Choose an eligible labour.
6.
Review any existing assignment warning.
7.
Confirm the assignment.
The operator becomes the authoritative Assigned source for that workstation, date, and shift.

Assignment to a Different Shift#

When a planner manually assigns a labour to a shift different from the worker’s currently resolved shift, Fabritec may create a one-day Swap Cover exception.
This allows the assignment to take effect without permanently changing:
The labour’s default shift
Crew membership
Crew rotation
Individual dated shift
Removing the assignment also removes its system-created cover where the exception remains Open and unchanged.

Approved and Locked Days#

Operator assignments cannot be added, moved, or removed on Approved or Locked days.
Correct the schedule before Timesheet approval.
An Approved day must be reopened by an authorized user before eligible scheduling changes can be made.
Locked days cannot be reopened or changed.

⚙️ Auto-Fill Operator Assignments
Auto-fill helps planners assign eligible operators to workstation shifts that do not currently have coverage.
Auto-fill is a manual planning action.
It does not run automatically in the background.
The available buttons include:
Auto-fill Day
Auto-fill Week
Clear Auto-fill
These actions are normally available from the Workstations Capacity Board.

Auto-Fill Day#

Click Auto-fill Day to fill eligible workstation gaps for the selected date.
Fabritec reviews each planned workstation shift and attempts to assign an available operator.
Use this action after:
Labour shifts are configured
Workstation operator links are configured
Production-stage eligibility is configured
Absence and leave exceptions are recorded
Manual assignments are reviewed

Auto-Fill Week#

Click Auto-fill Week to process the displayed weekly range.
Fabritec attempts to fill unresolved workstation shifts for each date in the week.
Weekly Auto-fill is useful when preparing the workforce plan before the week begins.

How Auto-Fill Selects Operators#

Auto-fill considers:
The worker’s resolved shift
Workstation operator links
Production-stage eligibility
Existing assignments
Absence and Leave exceptions
Previous operator continuity
Existing weekly assignment balance
Workstation demand priority
Approved and Locked days
Linked operators are considered before Derived operators.
Fabritec also attempts to preserve continuity by preferring an operator who recently worked on the same workstation where possible.

Auto-Fill Does Not Change Labour Shifts#

Auto-fill only uses workers whose existing resolved shift matches the target workstation shift.
It does not:
Change a labour’s default shift
Create a Swap Cover exception
Modify a Crew rotation
Move a manual assignment
Overwrite a valid existing assignment
When no shift-compatible worker is available, the gap remains unresolved.
A planner may then review the schedule and create a manual assignment where appropriate.

Auto-Fill Is Repeatable#

Running Auto-fill again fills only remaining gaps.
It does not duplicate valid assignments or replace Manual assignments.
This allows planners to:
1.
Run Auto-fill.
2.
Correct missing links or absences.
3.
Run Auto-fill again.
4.
Review the remaining unresolved shifts.

Auto-Fill Result#

After processing, Fabritec displays an Auto-fill Result window.
The result may show:
Number of workstation shifts assigned automatically
Number of shifts that still require an operator
Workstation
Date
Shift
Reason the shift remains open
Example:
80 workstation shifts assigned automatically
54 shifts still need an operator

No Remaining Gaps#

When no unresolved workstation shifts remain, the result displays a confirmation such as:
No unresolved workstation shifts remain in this range.
A result of zero newly assigned shifts may still be successful when every shift was already covered.

Unresolved Shift Reasons#

Possible reasons include:

All Eligible Operators Are Assigned Elsewhere#

Every shift-compatible operator is already assigned to another workstation.

No Eligible Operator#

No linked or production-stage-eligible labour is available for the workstation.

All Eligible Operators Are Absent#

Eligible workers exist, but they have an Absent or Leave exception.

No Shift-Compatible Operator#

Workers may be eligible for the workstation but do not resolve to the required shift.
Use the result to identify which source configuration requires correction.

Clear Auto-Fill#

Click Clear Auto-fill to remove assignments created automatically within the selected range.
Clear Auto-fill removes only automatic assignment records.
It does not remove:
Manual operator assignments
Workstation operator links
Production-stage labour eligibility
Crew membership
Labour shift configuration
Production records
Approved and Locked days are skipped.
Use Clear Auto-fill when the weekly plan must be recalculated after significant changes.

Timeline View#

The Timeline is a Gantt-style view of resolved shifts across the selected period.
Each row represents a resource, and each bar represents a resolved shift.
The horizontal time scale displays:
Dates
Hours
Shift start and end positions
Overnight continuation

Reading Timeline Bars#

A bar may show:
Capacity Status
Operator Source icon
Shift time
Start and end time
Maintenance or staffing condition
Example:
Day — 08:00–17:00
Night — 22:00–06:00
The bar’s position allows planners to understand when shifts overlap or leave gaps.

Workstation Timeline#

The Workstation Timeline groups workstations under Workstation Groups.
Use it to review:
Which shifts each workstation operates
Whether shifts overlap
Which shifts have operator coverage
Overnight operating windows
Maintenance effects

Labour Timeline#

The Labour Timeline shows each worker’s resolved daily shift.
The shift may come from:
1. One-day cover
2. Individual dated shift
3. Active Crew rotation
4. Fixed Crew shift
5. Labour default shift
The worker’s effective Work Calendar must also run the selected shift on the date.

Capacity Status Compared with Live Workstation Status#

The Capacity Status shown on the Shift Calendar is a scheduling status for a selected date.
It should not be confused with the live workstation status used by Andon and Productivity.
Examples of Shift Calendar Capacity Status:
Fully staffed
Partial
No operator
Non-working
Examples of live workstation status:
Running
Idle
Down
Unstaffed
Behind Pace
A workstation can be Fully Staffed for the day but currently Idle because no production is being recorded at the present moment.

Relationship with Work Calendars#

Work Calendars determine:
Which dates are working
Which shifts run
Shift priority
Holiday behavior
Special Working dates
Non-Working exceptions
The Shift Calendar displays the resolved result.
When a date is wrong, review:
Workforce → Work Calendars

Relationship with Holidays#

A Holiday normally closes the applicable Work Calendar.
The Shift Calendar then displays the date as Non-Working.
A Special Working exception can reopen one calendar during the Holiday.

Relationship with Crews and Shift Rotations#

Crew fixed shifts and active rotations help determine each Crew member’s resolved shift.
The Crews tab summarizes the resulting scheduled and actual hours.
Use the Shift Calendar to verify:
Rotation start dates
Current rotation step
Crew offsets
Future scheduled rotations
Individual overrides

Relationship with Timesheets#

The Shift Calendar and Timesheets use the same scheduling foundation.
Timesheets use the resolved labour shift to calculate Scheduled Hours.
Operator planning may also create a Swap Cover exception when a manual assignment changes the worker’s shift for one date.
Approved and Locked Timesheets protect the corresponding historical schedule.

Relationship with Production#

Actual Hours come from recorded Production activity.
When Actual Hours look incorrect, review:
Production duration
Operation Date and Time
Workstation
Production Stage
Selected labour resources
Rework activity
Deleted or corrected production records
Do not attempt to correct Actual Hours directly from the Shift Calendar.

Relationship with Maintenance#

Maintenance downtime appears in:
Capacity Status
Exceptions
Down / Maintenance Hours
Capacity Overview
Shift Details
Only the portion of maintenance that overlaps planned working time reduces operational capacity.
Maintenance is kept separate from the operator Coverage Gap.

Recommended Daily Planning Workflow#

1. Select the Date#

Choose Day or Week and confirm the required date range.

2. Review Not Configured Resources#

Correct missing Work Calendar, Shift, or Group configuration first.
Auto-fill cannot solve missing schedule configuration.

3. Review Down / Maintenance#

Confirm which workstation capacity has been removed by active maintenance windows.

4. Review No Operator and Partial Gaps#

Use the Status filter to focus on uncovered workstation shifts.

5. Verify Absence and Leave#

Record known labour exceptions before assigning operators.
An absent operator cannot provide staffing coverage.

6. Run Auto-Fill#

Use Auto-fill Day or Auto-fill Week.

7. Review the Result#

Investigate every unresolved shift and its reason.

8. Make Manual Assignments#

Use manual assignment for approved exceptions to the normal schedule.
Review any Swap Cover consequence before confirming.

9. Review Workstation Groups#

Confirm that each production area has the expected total capacity.

10. Review Labour and Crews#

Confirm that workloads and shift allocations are reasonable.

11. Review the Timeline#

Check shift timing, overnight coverage, and overlaps.

12. Approve Timesheets After Execution#

After production and attendance data are complete, review and approve the related Timesheets.

Create Crew fixed shifts and repeating rotations where required.

6. Configure Workstation Calendars#

Confirm that each workstation inherits or directly uses the correct Work Calendar and shifts.

7. Configure Operator Links#

Link the normal operators to each workstation.
Use shift-specific links where one operator should cover only a particular shift.

8. Record Attendance Exceptions#

Add Absent, Leave, Late, Early Out, Overtime, and Swap Cover exceptions as required.

9. Review the Shift Calendar#

Check all four tabs:
Workstations
Workstation Groups
Labour
Crews

10. Test Auto-Fill#

Run Auto-fill on a controlled Day or Week and review:
Assignments created
Remaining gaps
Operator sources
Assignment conflicts

11. Review Capacity and Actual Hours#

Confirm that Planned, Staffed, Actual, Maintenance, and Coverage Gap values are reasonable.

12. Establish the Operating Routine#

Define who is responsible for:
Weekly staffing preparation
Absence recording
Manual assignments

Maintenance schedule review

Auto-Fill Assigns Nobody#

Possible reasons include:
All shifts are already covered
No eligible operators exist
Eligible operators are absent

Review the Auto-fill Result for the exact reason.

Actual Hours Are Extremely High#

Review:
Production durations
Duplicate progress records
Overlapping operations
Shared labour records
Operation Date and Time
Whether work was recorded outside staffed periods
Actual Hours are source-driven and are not limited to Planned Hours.

A Crew Is on the Wrong Shift#

A Holiday Still Shows Working Time#

Review:
The resource’s effective Work Calendar
Whether the Holiday applies to that calendar

Governance Rules#

Shift Calendar values are calculated from source scheduling and production data.
Planned Hours come from effective Work Calendars and Work Shifts.
Shift breaks are excluded from planned working hours.
Maintenance downtime is reported separately from operator gaps.
Coverage Gap is available planned time without staffing coverage.
Actual Hours come from Production records.
Utilization is Actual Hours divided by Staffed Hours.
Utilization may exceed 100%.
A daily assignment takes priority over Linked and Derived coverage.
Linked operators take priority over Derived operators.
A worker must be present on the matching shift to provide coverage.
Absent and Leave workers do not satisfy workstation coverage.
One labour cannot be explicitly assigned to different workstations for the same date and shift.
Passive Linked or Derived coverage uses one operator for only one workstation per shift.
Manual assignment may create a one-day Swap Cover when shifts differ.
Auto-fill never creates Swap Cover exceptions.
Auto-fill does not move Manual assignments.
Re-running Auto-fill fills only remaining gaps.
Clear Auto-fill removes only automatic assignments.
Approved and Locked days reject operator assignment changes.
Non-Working dates do not create operator coverage gaps.
Missing schedule configuration is shown as Not Configured.
Overnight shifts belong to the date on which they start.
Workstation Group values are aggregated from member workstations.
Period Utilization is calculated from period totals rather than averaging daily percentages.
Capacity Status is different from the live Running, Idle, or Down workstation status.

Run Auto-fill again after correcting missing links or exceptions
Review every unresolved Auto-fill result
Use Manual assignment only when a specific operational decision is required
Review Swap Cover consequences before confirming an assignment
Avoid assigning one worker to multiple machines in the same shift
Use Workstation Groups to compare production-area capacity
Review the Timeline for night shifts and overlaps
Investigate utilization above 100% instead of assuming it is incorrect
Correct Production source records when Actual Hours are wrong
Keep Maintenance orders and downtime windows accurate
Review Holidays and Special Working dates before capacity planning
Clear only automatic assignments when rebuilding a plan
Complete scheduling corrections before Timesheet approval
