  1. Production Setup

Labour Group

The Labour Groups feature allows you to organize multiple workers into logical teams based on how work is actually executed on the shop floor.
Instead of planning production by individual workers, you can plan, assign, and track work by team.
This simplifies production planning, improves coordination, and reflects real-world fabrication workflows.

With Labour Groups, you can:
Group workers who operate together
Combine workers with different job titles into one team
Assign work based on team capacity instead of individuals
Simplify scheduling and execution on complex stages
Improve visibility for supervisors and planners

šŸ” What Is a Labour Group?
A Labour Group represents a working team, not a job title.
In real factories, work is often done by:
A welder + helper
A machine operator + assistant
A small crew rotating between tasks
Labour Groups allow you to model this reality inside Fabritec.
A Labour Group can include:
Workers with different job titles
Workers from different skills
Any combination that works together as a unit
Examples:
Fabrication Team
Assembly & Welding Team
Surface Preparation Team
Anchor Bolt Production Crew
Cold Forming & Bending Team

Where to Find Labour Groups#

Navigate to:
Production Setup → Labours Groups
You will see a list showing:
Group Name
Labours (workers assigned to the group)
Actions (Edit / Delete)
You can also:
Export Labour Groups to Excel or PDF
Search by group name or worker
Customize visible columns

āž• Add a New Labour Group#

Click Add Labour Group to open the creation window.
You will see two required fields:

Name (Required)#

The name of the team or working group.
Best practice is to name groups based on how work is executed, not HR titles.
Examples:
Fabrication Team
Assembly & Welding Team
Surface Preparation Team
Anchor Bolt Production
Cold Forming & Bending

Labours (Required)#

Select the workers who belong to this group.
The list shows:
Labour Code
Labour Name
Job Title (for reference)
You can:
Select multiple labours
Mix different job titles in the same group
Search by name or code
Important:
Labours must already be created in Labours before they can be added to a group.

Saving the Labour Group#

Click Add to save the group.
Once saved, the Labour Group becomes available for:
Production planning
Work assignment
Capacity calculations
Team-based execution tracking

āœļø Editing or šŸ—‘ļø Deleting a Labour Group#

From the Actions column:
āœļø Edit – Add or remove labours, or rename the group
šŸ—‘ļø Delete – Remove the labour group
āš ļø A Labour Group cannot be deleted if it is currently linked to:
Active production tasks
Ongoing operations or logs
You must remove or reassign it first.

⭐ Best Practices#

Create labour groups that reflect real shop-floor teams
Avoid creating too many small groups unless necessary
Use consistent naming across projects
Update labour groups when team compositions change
Combine complementary roles (operator + helper) for realistic planning
Review groups regularly to keep capacity calculations accurate
