Messages

The Messages page inside each project provides a dedicated communication space for teams to exchange updates, share notes, and keep all project-related discussions organized in one place.
It acts as an internal chat room specifically linked to the selected project and phase.

šŸ“ Where to Find the Messages Page
Navigate to:
Projects → Select a Project → Messages
At the top, you can select:
Project – Switch to another project
Phase – View or send messages related to a specific phase (if applicable)

Page Overview#

The Messages page is designed with simplicity and clarity to ensure seamless communication:

Chat Area#

Displays all messages sent by team members working on the same project.
Each message shows:
Sender icon
Message content
Timestamp
Messages appear chronologically, making it easy to follow the conversation flow.

Sending a Message#

At the bottom of the page:
1.
Type your message in the "Send a message" input box
2.
Click the Send icon (paper airplane) to submit
3.
Your message instantly appears in the chat thread
This allows teams to:
Communicate instantly
Share quick project notes
Ask questions related to production, drawings, QC, or shipping
Keep discussions documented within the project

Why Use the Messages Page?#

Using the built-in messages section helps ensure communication is:

Centralized#

All discussions remain inside the project — easy to reference later.

Real-time#

Updates are immediately available for all authorized users.

Task-Specific#

Each project (and optionally each phase) has its own dedicated messaging feed.

Traceable#

Message history can help track decisions, clarify instructions, and support audit needs.

šŸ” Permissions & Access#

Depending on the user role:
Some users may only view messages
Others may send and manage messages
This ensures secure communication between authorized team members.

🌟 Best Practices#

Use Messages to highlight changes or requests related to the project
Avoid using external chat apps to prevent losing important context
Notify teammates when uploading new drawings or documents
Use clear and concise messages
Tag phase-specific instructions by selecting the correct phase
