Create New Project

The Create New Project page in Fabritec allows you to quickly set up and configure a new project with all essential details—ensuring smooth coordination across production, shipping, quality control, and reporting.
This form is designed to gather all the required information before the project enters the workflow.

📍 Where to Find the New Project Form
Navigate to:
Projects → Add Project
Click the ➕ Add Project button to open the project creation window.

Project Fields Overview#

Below is a detailed explanation of every field inside the New Project form.

Job Number (Required)#

A unique identifier for the project.
Example: 12345, MS-2025-01.

Project Name (Required)#

The official name of the project.
Example: NB-12, New-S123, MNM124.

Customer (Required)#

Enter the customer or client name.
Example: Orascom, Petrojet.

Scope of Work (Required)#

Describe the project’s main tasks or deliverables.
Example: Steel fabrication, Cladding, Piping, etc.

Customer Email (Optional)#

An email address for client communication.
Example: client@company.com.

Customer Phone (Optional)#

Phone number of the client contact.
Example: +20 100 123 4567.

Sales Name (Optional)#

The salesperson or account manager responsible for this project.

Folder Structure (Required)#

Select the predefined document structure this project will use.
Options include:
New EE
Main Doc
New ss
This structure defines how your project’s documents and folders are organized.

Address (Required)#

Select a saved address or add a new one using Add New Address.
When adding a new address, you can fill in:
Address Line 1 (Required)
Address Line 2 (Optional)
Country (Required)
State (Required)
City (Required)
Postal Code (Optional)
The address is linked to project documentation and shipping operations.

Surface Area (Optional)#

Total area of the project site in square meters.
Example: 2500 m²

Creating the Project#

After all fields are filled:
Click Create Project.
The new project will be added to your Projects dashboard, showing:
Progress
Current production & shipping status
Assigned customer
Assigned folder structure
Location badge
Open/Closed state

✔️ Best Practices for Creating Projects#

Use consistent formatting for job numbers and project names.
Always assign the correct folder structure to match company documentation standards.
Add customer email & phone for better communication.
Double-check the address, as it impacts shipping and reporting.
Fill in the Surface Area when the project requires BOQ or weight calculations.
