The Production Stages module allows you to design and control the manufacturing workflow inside your factory.
Each stage represents a step in the production process—such as Cutting, Welding, Painting, or QC—and is used across Routes, Tracking, Workstations, and Reports.

Fabritec lets you add, edit, reorder, and configure stages to match your factory’s exact workflow.
This ensures accurate tracking, optimized routing, and consistent reporting across all projects.

Production stages are the foundation of:

Routing (the sequence of operations for each item)

Workstation assignment and utilization

📋 Viewing Production Stages

Navigate to:

Production Setup → Production Stages

Here you will see a full list of your stages with:

Stage order

Name

Requires Inspection (true/false)

Outsourcing (true/false)

Default duration

Assigned labour groups

Actions (edit, delete)

Stages appear in the exact order you define them, and this sequence is used across all Routes and Production workflows.

Click + Add Stage to open the stage creation form.

You will be able to configure the following:

Name (Required)

Enter the name of the production step.

Examples:

Cutting

Bending

Rolling

Welding

Painting

Description (Optional)

Add a short description to clarify the scope of this stage.
This helps supervisors and operators understand what happens at this step.

Examples:

Cutting steel plates using CNC and laser machines

Welding joints using MIG/MAG welding technique

Default Duration (Optional)

Define the expected duration of the stage (Hours:Minutes).
Fabritec uses this value for planning and scheduling insights on dashboards and load calculations.

Example values:

02:30 → Cutting

01:00 → Bending

00:45 → Fit-Up

Choose a Color (Required)

Assign a color tag to visually distinguish this stage across:

Tracking screens

Workflow cards

Production timelines

Colors help operators quickly recognize each stage on dashboards and progress bars.

Requires Inspection (Toggle)

Turn this ON if the stage must be inspected before moving to the next stage.
This ensures production cannot proceed without QC approval.

Each stage can be:

Update name, duration, color, inspection requirements, and outsourcing settings.

🗑 Deleted

Only if the stage is not used in existing routes or items.

Drag stages up or down to change their sequence.
This sequence becomes the factory’s operational flow.

Production Stages are linked everywhere in the system:

1. Routes

Stages define the full operation sequence for each item.

2. Workstations

Each workstation can be tied to a default stage.

3. Labours

Labour groups are assigned to stages they work on.

4. Quality Control

If “Requires Inspection” is ON, QC must approve before production moves forward.

5. Tracking

Stages appear in order on the tracking timeline.

Enable inspection only where needed to avoid unnecessary QC delays.

Use outsourcing only when the step truly occurs outside the factory.
