WorkStations represent the physical machines, stations, or production areas used during fabrication.
Each workstation is linked to a Production Stage and is essential for:Assigning tasks to operators
Measuring capacity and throughput
Building accurate production routes
Fabritec allows you to add, edit, and configure workstations so that they align perfectly with your factory layout and workflow.
WorkStations Page Overview
The WorkStations page lists all machines and work areas, showing:Status (Running / Offline)
Type (MachineDriven, LaborDriven, MachineAndLaborDriven)
You can export the full workstation list using Excel Export or PDF Export.
➕ Add a New WorkStation#
Click + Add WorkStation to open the creation form.You will configure the following fields:
1️⃣ Code (Required)#
A unique identifier for the workstation.11 (CNC Plasma Cutting Machine)

2️⃣ Name (Required)#
Give the workstation a clear, descriptive name.CNC Plasma Cutting Machine
3️⃣ Default Production Stage (Required)#
Select the stage that normally takes place at this workstation.Examples from the dropdown:This ensures items are routed to the correct station during tracking.
4️⃣ Type (Required)#
Defines how the workstation operates:MachineDriven#
Used when the workstation is operated primarily by machines.
Examples:LaborDriven#
Used for fully manual workstations.
Examples:MachineAndLaborDriven#
Used when both operator effort and machine capacity contribute.
5️⃣ Stream Type (Required)#
Defines how the workstation processes items.Single#
One item is processed at a time.
Common for: cutting, welding, drilling.Continuous#
Items move continuously through the station.
Common for: painting lines, conveyor systems.
6️⃣ Capacity Type (Required)#
This determines the unit of measurement used for workstation capacity.
7️⃣ Capacity / hr (Required)#
Enter the maximum expected output this station can handle per hour.
8️⃣ Unit (Required)#
The specific measurement unit for the selected capacity type.
9️⃣ Description (Optional)#
Add more details if needed, such as:
