Track the real-time progress of every item across all production stages, ensuring full visibility and accountability throughout the manufacturing workflow. The Tracking Page allows you to:Monitor item movement through all routing stages
Log labour, workstation, and operation times
Review QC requirements and inspections
View individual item logs (progress, rework, inspections)
Perform bulk production updates
Track final production status per mark
Before You Can Start Tracking: Phase Must Be Released for Production#
To begin any production activity or tracking operations, the system requires that the Phase is officially released for production.Releasing a phase confirms that:✔ All items and revisions are complete
✔ Required files and drawings are uploaded
✔ Revision is approved and locked
✔ Routing is ready for execution
✔ Production team is cleared to begin
Without releasing the phase:❌ Items will NOT appear in Tracking
❌ Bulk Update will be disabled
❌ Single-item progress cannot be updated
❌ No production logs will be recorded
🔓 How to Release a Phase for Production#
4.
Choose Release for Production
5.
Status updates to Production Enabled: true
After release, the system activates:Bulk & single item updates
Reversing a Release: Unrelease for Production or Shipping#
Fabritec now allows authorized users to reverse a phase release when the phase needs to be reviewed, corrected, or temporarily stopped before continuing production or shipping. This gives teams more control when a phase was released too early, released by mistake, or needs additional validation before execution continues.Fabritec supports two release reversal actions:
Unrelease for Production#
Use Unrelease for Production when a phase has already been released to production but should be returned for review before production continues. The phase was released for production by mistake
The phase needs additional review before production starts
The team needs to adjust or validate information before continuing
Production should be temporarily stopped until the phase is confirmed again
When Unrelease for Production is applied, the phase is no longer treated as actively released for production.
The team can review the phase, make the required checks, and release it again when it is ready.
Best Practice#
Only use Unrelease actions when there is a clear operational reason to stop or review the phase. Before releasing the phase again, make sure that:Required data has been reviewed
Drawings and revision information are correct
Production or shipping readiness is confirmed
The responsible team is aligned before continuing
This helps keep production and shipping workflows controlled, accurate, and traceable.
Tracking Page Overview#
The Tracking module is divided into two main tabs for better visibility and control.
Items Tracking#
Displays all items within the selected phase with details such as:Action Buttons (Progress Update, Logs, Item Details)
Bulk Update#
Use this to update multiple items at once:Ideal for batches of items handled together.Item Status#
This view provides a high-level summary of progress:Completion of each production stage
Visual progress indicators
Great for supervisors and managers monitoring overall production health.
Single Item Update#
Selecting the update icon opens a detailed update window:This operation updates only the current required stage for the specific mark.Item Logs#
A complete history of the item, including:Perfect for audits, quality management, and issue tracking.Item Details Page#
Provides a consolidated view of the item’s production lifecycle:Qty in production, yard, outsourced, or shipped
Quantity Under Inspection
⭐ Best Practices for Effective Tracking#
Following these recommendations ensures accurate reporting and smooth production operations:Release Phases on Time#
Always release the phase immediately after revision approval to prevent workflow delays.Use Bulk Update at the end of each shift to ensure all operators’ work is captured.Update Single Items for Exceptions#
If an item receives extra work or rework, use single-item updates to avoid skewing bulk data.Ensure Routing Is Correct Before Production#
Incorrect routing leads to wrong tracking results. Always validate routes before releasing the phase.Encourage Teams to Log Time Accurately#
Accurate timestamps and durations improve productivity analysis and labour utilization reports.Review Item Logs Frequently#
Monitor logs to spot quality issues early and prevent downstream errors.Monitor Item Status for Bottlenecks#
Stages with zero progress or continuous pending QC indicate process or resource bottlenecks.
