❓ FAQs for the Users Section#
Below are the clearest answers to the most common questions customers ask when managing Users in Fabritec.
1️⃣ What is the difference between a User, a Role, and a Department?#
A User is an individual account that logs into the system.
A Role defines what the user can do (permissions).
A Department defines where the user belongs in the organization.
All three work together to control access, structure teams, and maintain clear accountability.
2️⃣ Can one user have multiple roles?#
Yes.
A user can be assigned multiple roles, and Fabritec automatically combines the permissions from all assigned roles.
This is useful for supervisors or staff with multiple responsibilities.
3️⃣ What happens if I assign the wrong role to a user?#

Be unable to perform key tasks
You can edit their Role at any time — changes take effect immediately.
4️⃣ Is an email address required, and why?#

Yes.
Fabritec supports bulk import via Excel/CSV during onboarding — especially helpful for large factories with hundreds of employees.
11️⃣ How do I reset a user’s password or resend email verification?#
You can manage this through:The “More Options” menu in the user record
Or by directing users to click Forgot Password on the login page
Password resets are sent via email.
12️⃣ What is the impact of assigning the wrong department?#
Department assignment does not affect permissions.
However, it may affect:Reporting clarity
Assign users to the correct department for clean organization.
13️⃣ Can I restrict certain users to “view only”?#
Yes.
Create a View-Only Role that includes only “View” permissions.
Assign this role to auditors, reviewers, supervisors, or external consultants.
14️⃣ How do I temporarily disable a user without deleting them?#
Use the Lock option.
Locked users:Keep all historical logs and activity

This is the recommended way to disable accounts.
15️⃣ Are user accounts shared, or must each person have their own login?#

Sharing accounts:Violates accountability standards
Causes conflicting activity logs
Fabritec is designed for individual, secured user accounts.
