❓ FAQs for the Production Section#
Below are the most important and commonly asked questions about the Production module — with clear answers to help users understand and operate the system confidently.
1️⃣ What is the purpose of the Production page in Fabritec?#
The Production page allows you to monitor, track, and update all manufacturing activities in real time.
You can view item progress, assign workers, update stages, and control access — ensuring that production flows smoothly and accurately.
2️⃣ What is the difference between “Items” and “Access” tabs?#
Items Tab → Displays all items currently in production. You can update stages, view drawings, run bulk updates, and export reports.
Access Tab → Controls which users are allowed to update production progress for specific stages.
This separation ensures accurate tracking and secure workflow management.
3️⃣ How do I update an item’s production stage?#
Click Update Stage on the item row.
You can record:Completion date
This ensures the system reflects the most accurate production progress.
4️⃣ Can I update multiple items at once?#
Yes.
Use the Bulk Update tool to update several items simultaneously — ideal for batch production.
You can update:
5️⃣ Why can’t I update an item’s stage?#
There are three common reasons:1.
You are not assigned to that production stage in the Access tab.
2.
The item is not released to production from the Phases Explorer.
3.
The item belongs to a locked/approved revision that restricts edits.
6️⃣ What does the “Status” column mean in the Items table?#
Status indicates the item’s readiness or progress inside production.
Examples:Available → Ready for processing
In Progress → Currently being fabricated
Completed → All stages finished
Statuses help supervisors understand workload distribution.
7️⃣ How do I view full details of an item?#
Click Item Details.
You’ll see:Operation and phase data
This provides a complete traceability record for each item.
8️⃣ What is the purpose of the “Access” page?#
The Access page declares which users are allowed to update which production stages.
Only users assigned to a stage (e.g., Cutting, Welding, Painting) can update items in that stage.
This prevents unauthorized changes and ensures reliable reporting.
9️⃣ How do I assign a user to production stages?#
Go to Production → Access → Click Edit next to the user.
Select the stages they are trained and authorized to update.
Save the changes to activate the permissions immediately.
🔟 Why is Bulk Update important?#
Bulk Update speeds up data entry when working on many identical items.
It ensures consistency in:Notes
This is especially useful in repetitive or large-scale production tasks.
11️⃣ What if I accidentally update the wrong stage?#
Users with the correct permissions can adjust or correct the stage in the Item Details log.
Alternatively, supervisors may override the progress if allowed by their role.
12️⃣ Can I export production items for reporting?#
Yes.
You can export the full item list in Excel or PDF using the toolbar.
This is useful for management reviews, daily production meetings, or external reporting.
13️⃣ Why is a drawing linked to each item?#
The drawing ensures operators have the correct engineering reference during fabrication.
Click View Drawing at any time to open the associated file and avoid errors.
14️⃣ Why is an item not showing in the Production list?#
The revision is not approved in the Phases Explorer.
The item belongs to a phase that is not selected.
Filters are applied — try clicking Clear Filter.
The item is part of a category currently hidden in the table columns.
15️⃣ How do Production stages connect to other modules?#
Production depends on proper configuration in:Phases Explorer (for Final Items)
Routes (to define the sequence of stages)
Access Permissions
Production is the execution layer — but setup must be correct for accurate tracking.
✨ Bonus FAQ — When does production officially start?#
Production begins only after a revision is approved and released.
No item should be manufactured before approvals are completed to maintain traceability and accuracy.
