❓ FAQs for the Dashboards Section#
Below are clear and practical answers to the most common questions customers ask when exploring the Dashboards feature in Fabritec.
1️⃣ What does the Productivity Dashboard measure exactly?#
It measures actual production output in weight (tons) over a selected time period.
The dashboard reflects the total weight of items that have completed production stages, not:Number of stages completed
Time spent
It is a high-level indicator of factory productivity.
2️⃣ Why is production measured in weight (t)? Can I change the unit?#
Weight is the most reliable metric in steel and fabrication industries for:Yes — units can be changed from Settings → Preferences (e.g., tons, kg, lb).
The dashboard will automatically reflect the selected global weight unit.
3️⃣ How often does the dashboard update? Is it real-time?#
The dashboard updates in real-time whenever Production or QC submits progress.
If the browser is idle, you may need to refresh the page to see new entries.
4️⃣ Why am I not seeing data for certain days or weeks?#
No production was logged on those days
Items were not updated to the completed stage
Routes were missing required stages
QC inspections blocked stage completion
A revision was not approved
Verify tracking logs and stage configurations to ensure continuity.
5️⃣ How do Duration and Granularity affect the displayed results?#
Duration determines what date range is shown (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, etc.).
Granularity determines how the data is grouped:Monthly
Using Daily granularity with a long duration produces a cleaner, more readable trend.
6️⃣ What is the difference between Column Chart and Line Chart?#
Column Chart → Best for comparing individual days or periods.
Line Chart → Best for understanding trends over time.
Both display the same data but with different visual emphasis.
7️⃣ Can I filter the dashboard by category, project, or workstation?#
Not in the Productivity Dashboard.
It currently provides factory-wide output only.
For filtered analysis, use the Reports module (e.g., Production by Phase, Category, Stage, or Workstation).
8️⃣ Why doesn't my exported Excel/PDF match what I see on the screen?#
Differences typically occur due to:Filters not applied properly
Date range changes before export
Granularity settings not matching module defaults
Always double-check selected filters before exporting.
9️⃣ Why do I see sudden drops or spikes in productivity?#
Bulk updates being applied for multiple days
Missing logs from operators
QC delays preventing production closure
Outsourced items returned suddenly
High-volume batch completion
Review production logs for those dates to identify patterns.
🔟 Can multiple users see different dashboard data based on permissions?#
No.
The Productivity Dashboard is global, showing overall factory output.
Permissions control access to the dashboard, not the data shown.
Reports offer more restricted, role-based visibility.
11️⃣ How far back can I analyze productivity data?#
Up to 3 years with the predefined filter
Any time frame using Custom Range
There is no system-imposed historical limit beyond available production logs.
12️⃣ Why does my graph look empty after choosing a custom date range?#
No production occurred during the selected period
Incorrect or inverted start/end dates
The selected range exceeds actual project timelines
Try narrowing the range or verifying production logs.
13️⃣ Does the dashboard include outsourced or subcontracted production?#
Yes.
If an outsourced stage is marked completed, its weight contributes to the dashboard.
However, internal capacity reports only reflect in-house production.
14️⃣ Can I combine dashboards with Reports for deeper analysis?#
Yes — this is recommended.Dashboards → Quick, high-level visual trends
Reports → Detailed breakdowns (by phase, category, stage, worker, workstation, etc.)
Together, they offer a complete picture of productivity.
15️⃣ Can dashboard settings be saved or shared with other team members?#
Not yet.
Filters and views reset per session.
However, exported PDF/Excel files can be shared easily with managers and teams.
