FAQs for the Shipping Yard

❓ FAQs for the Shipping Yard Section#

Below are the most common and expected questions customers ask when learning how to manage Shipping Yard operations in Fabritec.

1️⃣ Why don’t I see any items in “Entry to Shipping Yard”?#

Items only appear in this section when:
Production is fully completed
QC (if required) has approved the item
The item is marked as ready for shipping
If any step is missing, the item will not be available for yard entry.

2️⃣ What does “Accepting an item into the yard” actually do?#

When you accept an item:
It moves from production output to yard inventory
It becomes visible in Shipping Yard Items
The system begins tracking its yard stock and dispatch readiness
This is the official transition from fabrication to logistics.

3️⃣ Can I modify the quantity when accepting items into the yard?#

Yes.
You can increase or decrease the quantity using the + / - selector before clicking Accept.
This is useful when:
Only part of a batch arrived
Some items are still under QC
Items are split between multiple deliveries

4️⃣ What happens if I click “Accept All”?#

“Accept All” accepts all pending items in the yard entry list according to the displayed quantities.
This is ideal for:
End-of-shift yard intake
Large batch movements
However, use it carefully and verify quantities first.

5️⃣ Why is my accepted item not showing in Shipping Yard Items?#

Possible reasons:
It was accepted under a different phase filter
The page needs a refresh
Another user has updated yard inventory simultaneously
The item was mistakenly accepted with quantity = 0
Check filters and refresh before reprocessing.

6️⃣ Can I remove or reverse an item that was accepted into the yard?#

Reversing yard entry is restricted to users with special permissions.
This is to protect:
Inventory integrity
Shipping logs
Dispatch accuracy
Administrators or supervisors can modify yard entries if needed.

7️⃣ What is the difference between “Qty in Yard” and “Qty in Dispatch”?#

Qty in Yard → Items currently stored in the yard and waiting for shipment
Qty in Dispatch → Items already assigned to a shipping load or truck
When the shipment is finalized, dispatch quantities reflect what has left the facility.

8️⃣ Why does the Shipping Yard show items from multiple phases and projects?#

Because the yard represents physical inventory, not project-specific inventory.
Filters are available to help you sort by:
Project
Phase
Category
Mark
This makes yard management flexible and scalable.

9️⃣ How is “Weight in Yard” calculated?#

Fabritec automatically multiplies:
Unit Weight × Qty in Yard
This helps logistics teams estimate loading capacity and truck planning.

🔟 Can I export yard inventory for logistics or customer reporting?#

Yes.
You can export:
Excel – For planning, stock checks, or sorting
PDF – For official documents and customer updates
Exports include phase, mark, weight, quantities, and profile details.

11️⃣ Do I need to accept items into the yard before shipping them?#

Yes.
Shipping is only allowed for items that:
1.
Passed production
2.
Passed QC (if required)
3.
Are entered into the yard
This ensures full traceability and prevents accidental dispatch of unfinished items.

12️⃣ Can multiple users accept items into the yard at the same time?#

Yes.
Fabritec supports multi-user yard operations.
Quantities and inventory update in real time to prevent duplication.

13️⃣ Why does the yard show wrong weight or quantity?#

Common causes:
Incorrect qty entered at acceptance
Wrong revision weight in Phase Explorer
Duplicate acceptance actions
Filter mismatch
Always check item details before accepting to maintain accurate yard inventory.

14️⃣ Can I search or filter items inside the yard?#

Yes.
You can filter by:
Mark
Phase
Category
Profile
Status
Yard quantity
This makes finding specific items extremely easy.

15️⃣ How does Shipping Yard connect to the Shipping module?#

Items in Shipping Yard Items automatically populate the Shipping module for:
Creating shipping loads
Generating packing lists
Assigning trucks
Completing dispatch
The yard acts as the bridge between production and logistics.
